Everything you need to get started with Oceara
Quickstart
- Create an Oceara account and sign in.
- Upload FASTQ files (paired-end R1/R2 or single-end).
- Enter sample metadata like location, collection date, and primer.
- Start analysis and monitor progress in your dashboard.
- Review species results, AI interpretation, and the printable report.
File Requirements
- Accepted formats: .fastq, .fastq.gz, .fq, .fq.gz.
- Paired-end data should include both R1 and R2 reads.
- Single-end data should be labeled clearly (for example, sample_R1).
- Maximum file size: 2GB per file.
Required Metadata
- Sample name and collection date.
- Collection location (coordinates or region).
- Environment type and primer/marker selection.
- Optional site name and collection method.
Optional Enhancements
- Region polygons for spatial summaries.
- Custom reference databases (pilot only).
- Team tags for dashboards and reports.
Pipeline Stages
- Quality control and primer trimming.
- Denoising and contaminant removal.
- Taxonomy assignment and consensus building.

Understanding Results
- Confidence scores indicate how strongly reads match references.
